In the Stack-Du-Jour, we offer one stack-of-sticks for today’s MLB Slate on Fanduel. Here’s a hot stack to consider today that might offer you ownership leverage on the field.
The Arizona Diamondbacks have been one of the best offenses in baseball, quietly. The Snakes are currently leading the league in runs at 62, with a 61 RBIs. The power hasn’t been staggering but they are top 3 in singles and walks in the 2017 season.
What’s mind-blowing is, they seem to go under-owned regularly. We know West Coast teams usually get depressed ownership, in general in MLB DFS because they aren’t in prime time and don’t always get a ton of love from DFS players watching primetime baseball. Let’s be honest, who stayed up late to watch them play the Padres? Not this guy. But that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be in your lineups.
Tonight they face Padres’ righty Jhoulys Chacin… Chacin doesn’t really have it this year…The control numbers are brutal, especially against lefties. He’s not offering much in the way of K’s and giving up dingers to LHB at a serious rate.
This immediately makes the power lefty Jake Lamb an appealing option against Chacin tonight. And if we like Lamb? We should like the rest of the D-backs around him. I’ll list them in order of preference tonight…
1- Jake Lamb 3B- 3900
Lamb is hot. He’s got 6 hits in the last 5 games, 2 HRs, and 5 RBIs. Specifically, he has a .410 WOBA and .269 ISO this year. I think Lamb has some solid PA’s in his future tonight, with a possible dinger.
2- David Peralta OF- 3100
Peralta is the other lefty bat doing damage in the D-Back’s lineup. Peralta is batting over 300 against RHP and shown a little bit of power. The nice part of Peralta is the salary relief and the correlation with Lamb, he’s been batting 2nd ahead of Lamb’s 4 spot.
3- AJ Pollock OF- 3600
Pollock is pricy. However, he’s batting leadoff and adds a lot of upside here. He doesn’t offer the power of Lamb or Goldy, but with a low K rate and a nice 340 WOBA against RHP, you can see the leverage and the merit to Pollock here.
4- Paul Goldschmidt 1B- 4300
Goldy is only last on this list because of price. His price is restrictive on a slate with Kershaw and Bumgarner, but this is all the more reason to suspect ownership leverage. Fewer people will likely pay up for him. The power against RHP is nice 376 WOBA and 191 WOBA, Goldy should be in play as well.
