Hey LineupLogic listeners! I would like to welcome you to “The Chalkboard”. In these articles, I will give my take on which chalky players you should avoid and players that will go under-owned. Choosing some of these lower owned players in GPPs will give you an edge on the competition and possibly help you take home some serious cash.
Quick guide to each subcategory
Why? – Why will the player be owned at the projected percentage.
Grade – Grade is 0-100 scale of how much I like each player as a point per dollar option.
The Chalkboard – Tight Ends
Chalky players you should fade/limit exposure to
Charles Clay ($5,700) BUF @ CIN – 7.5%
Why? – Jordan Matthews is out and Clay has been a great option at TE this year.
Grade – 75/100 – The Bengals defense is really good and despite Jordan Matthews being out, I don’t feel completely safe rostering Clay this week. He should get a decent number of looks, but I can’t trust that he won’t get shut down by Cincy this week.
Zach Ertz ($6,600) PHI vs ARI – 7.5%
Why? – Ertz has posted 10 plus fantasy points each week this year. People love consistency and will play him just for that.
Grade – 70/100 – Arizona is really good against the tight end. Arizona knows that Ertz is the go-to option for Carson Wentz and they will try to shut that down. I don’t see him producing like he has in the first 4 weeks of the season.
Low owned pivots
Delanie Walker ($6,500) TEN @ MIA – 4%
Why? – Mariota is a game time decision and people will fade Walker due to this.
Grade – 85/100 – Here’s the thing. I love Walker this week even if Cassel starts. Last year, Cassel started one game in place of Mariota and targeted Walker 8 times. He’s a good option whether Mariota plays or not.
Jared Cook ($5,300) OAK @ BAL – 3%
Why? – Carr is expected to sit which will make Cook go even more underwent.
Grade – 85/100 – EJ Manuel used Cook as his safety net last week and targeting him 4 times in 1 and 1/3 quarters of play. Cook is a solid option again this week, especially if EJ Manuel is under center.
Brandon Williams ($4,500) IND vs SF – less than 0.1%
Why? – Don’t lie, you just googled him…that’s why.
Grade – 75/100 – Jacoby Brissett loves his tight ends and I think Williams could see 5 or more targets this week. He seems to be more of a deep threat tight end and could have a long TD if Brissett looks his way.
Other options: Antonio Gates ($4,600), Julius Thomas ($4,800)
