Spectre’s NBA DFS Breakdown: Wednesday, October 18th, 2017

Happy actual HUGE NBA day!  This slate is massive.  I’m going to fire up a new format here, cheat sheet style for bigger slates.  Players marked in GREEN are players I believe will be chalky tonight, and players marked in YELLOW are players I consider to be elite tournament options.

HOU: 113.3
WAS: 112.3
POR: 110.5
IND: 110
PHO: 108.5
BKN: 106.5
SAC: 105.3
PHI: 105.3
MIA: 104.3
MEM: 104.3
UTA: 104
BOS: 103.5
SA: 103.5
DET: 103
MIN: 102
NO: 101.8
DEN: 101.5
DAL: 101.3
ORL: 101.3
MIL: 100.5
CHA: 100
ATL: 95.3

Confirmed Inactives & Situations to Monitor:

Damian Lillard

D’Angelo Russell
Dennis Smith Jr.
Kyrie Irving
Mike Conley
Darren Collison
John Wall
Kemba Walker
Eric Bledsoe

Marcus Smart
Kyrie Irving
Jrue Holiday
Yogi Ferrell

Damian Lillard will almost undoubtedly be the chalk PG tonight, and for good reason, given the absence of C.J. McCollum.  I’m fine with locking him in.  I’m loving this spot to get ahead of the masses with D’Angelo Russell, though, because we know he was trapped on the Lakers and this is a spot in which he can truly thrive at his position.  Dennis Smith Jr.‘s price on FanDuel is bananas low, so fire him up and take advantage of the salary benefits.  Kyrie Irving is playing in front of the Boston fans for the first time, so he has some impressing to do, and I think he’ll do it big time in this spot.

James Harden

Jeremy Lamb
Jaylen Brown
Josh Richardson
Victor Oladipo
Eric Gordon
Devin Booker
Rodney Hood
Evan Turner
Lance Stephenson
Tyreke Evans

I feel fairly confident that James Harden and Jaylen Brown will be the two highest owned options at SG.  Harden actually has stats that show his dominance on the second leg of a back-to-back.  With Jaylen Brown, we have a combination of his talent (he is so good), this matchup, and recency bias to fuel his ownership.  I’m feeling pretty saucy about Rodney Hood and Eric Gordon as tournament pivots.

Taurean Prince
Jayson Tatum
Kelly Oubre Jr.
T.J. Warren
Trevor Ariza
Maurice Harkless

We’ll be looking at Jayson Tatum as a cash game option until his price rises to where it belongs.  Marcus Morris is out, and Tatum’s picking up the extra time (e.g. last night, when he played 36 minutes).  Small forward is sort of a snooze fest, otherwise.

Ben Simmons
Giannis Antetokounmpo
Anthony Davis
Derrick Favors
Aaron Gordon
Khris Middleton
Gorgui Dieng
Ersan Ilyasova

Hassan Whiteside

Marc Gasol
Nikola Vucevic
Andre Drummond

Clint Capela
Rudy Gobert
Marcin Gortat
Tyson Chandler (if Len is out)
Willie Cauley-Stein
Al Horford
Dewayne Dedmon

This post will be updated as news/lineups emerge.
