The first round of the FedEx Cup Playoffs is in the books and we are seeing a number of big names reemerge on the scene. Dustin Johnson got the W last week beating out Jordan Spieth in extra holes at the Northern Trust and will look to stay hot at this week’s Dell Technologies Championship, the second tournament of four in the FedEx Cup playoffs. The field is now narrowed to 100 players and will be cut to 70 for next week. There are a few guys in the field this week that chose to sit out week #1, making things even more interesting.
And just like that the playoffs are here. The four majors have come and gone, Stenson took the Wyndham Championship as most expected he would, and Hideki Matsuyama sits atop the FedEx Cup standings. 2017’s major championship winners include Sergio Garcia (The Masters), Brooks Koepka (US Open), Jordan Spieth (The Open Championship), and Justin Thomas (PGA Championship). For those new to PGA and/or the FedEx Cup Playoffs, the next four weeks will determine a season-long champion of the PGA Tour. This year a total of $67 million is on the line, so we can expect to see participants grinding it out every step of the way.
Preview: This week’s Wyndham Championship isn’t exactly the most exciting slate we’ll see this PGA season, but it presents us with a solid field and good opportunity to set some bold lineups […]
PGA Championship Week is once again upon us and though it may be a bit of a bummer that the 4th and final major is already here and will soon be gone, I assure you there are plenty of good tournaments with stacked fields to come and that the season is far from over. Coming off a very good week for a lot of us DFS’ers my goal is to keep the momentum going heading into this major championship week. Let’s jump right in.
This week’s World Golf Championship event is the third of four that are played each season and can be looked at as a small preview of things to come for next week’s PGA Championship, the forth and final major of the year. A small field of ~80 players and no cuts being made heading into the weekend makes things interesting from a DFS standpoint.
On to the next one.
Luckily for all PGA fans, the field at this week’s RBC Canadian Open is anything but lackluster. Headlining favorites include last year’s RBC runner up Dustin Johnson and last weekend’s Open Championship runner up Matt Kuchar. Let’s make some cash!
The Vegas favorites of DJ, McIlroy, Spieth, and Masters-champ Sergio top the salary charts on DK and FD, but a ton of value is down below. Some people say this is the hardest major to predict an outcome, making it all the more fun to crunch the numbers and try to find the real value picks.
